To Women Past Present and Future

To Women Past Present and Future

For the mothers, daughters, sisters, lovers, and friends who have shaped lives and legacies with quiet strength and unwavering grace. For the women who came before, and those yet to rise.

More than a book. A keepsake.

Some books tell stories. This one pays tribute.

To Women: Past, Present and Future is a collaboration between two Egyptian-American artists — author Hani Selim and illustrator Al-Huda Khamis — who came together to honor the women who shape our lives, our memories, and our understanding of what it means to love and be loved.

Each page pairs an original poem or meditation with an illustration that interprets and deepens its emotional meaning. The result is a dialogue between word and image, intimate, visual, and deeply human.

This is a book about mothers and daughters, about lovers and strangers, about the women we have lost and the ones we carry with us still. It is rooted in gratitude and empathy, and it moves across time, from the women of the past whose sacrifices built the world we inhabit, to those in the present who endure quietly and love fiercely, to those yet to rise.

It is, above all, a keepsake. Something to give and to keep. Something to return to.
