Money is the universal language and religion of the world. Banks are the temples where people worship their favorite materialistic god. People abandon their dreams, hopes, families, religions, and everything dear to chase money. People commit the most awful crimes just for money; people kill each other for money; they sell their souls for materialistic gains. Money is what makes the world go around. Money is the only source of happiness for many regardless of the way it is earned.
Not Everything
Money would easily buy you anything in the world, if you have it, but in no way possible could it buy inner peace or happiness. Money wouldn’t buy you love; it might buy you some groupies who want to take advantage of you. However, it wouldn’t buy a healthy loving atmosphere that is based on sincere and genuine love.
The Damage
Many families have fallen apart because of money: too much of it was never enough to keep the family as a unit because someone is always out chasing more, its scarcity broke families into pieces, because someone wanted more.
Many have died because of money making schemes: pharmaceutical companies have distributed poisonous medicines to cover expenses in worthless research. Some scientist has received the price to manipulate the results; some politician has been bribed to pass the law ensuring the survival of the company; some judge has been bribed to overlook the death of many innocent souls in the name of scientific research.
Leader have killed their own citizens for the right price to usurp the resources of the poor, all for personal gains. A genocide that would annihilate a whole ethnic race would take place if you paid the price.
Fathers and mothers have done unthinkable things to their infants; thrown them in a garbage can, left them in front of an orphanage, and sold them for money. Siblings have killed one another for money. Children have killed their parents for money. Soldiers have sold their comrades and national security secrets for the sake of money.
People will simply lie, spy, and do anything for money.
People sold Jesus for money.
Everyone has their price. What is yours?
